The first year of an HND in Business Analytics is an exciting and rigorous time that sets the foundation for success in the field.

Two years of Higher Nationals study specializing in Games and Business Analytics at ATH in Pakistan leads to a one-year top-up BSc Hons in Business Analytics degree that you can study in the UK at a competitive UK university.

Students will study the following eight courses during the first academic year. Instruction will be supported through formative and summative assessments with a focus on global employability skills. Students can also opt to only study the first year at ATH and transfer to study in the UK for two years of study at a UK university.

This unit helps students develop skills such as problem solving, critical thinking, analysis, reasoning, and interpretation, which are crucial for professional practice and workplace competence in a digital world.

This unit introduces students to a number of tools and techniques like operational agility, culture, leadership, customer experience, and integration of digital technology that organizations use to transform and become more innovative in their approach.

This unit has been designed to develop students’ knowledge and understanding in relation to cyber threats and vulnerabilities, cyber defence techniques and develop strategic responses to cyber security threats.

This unit introduces students to the core concepts of programming with an introduction to algorithms and the characteristics of programming paradigms. Throughout this unit, students use algorithms to describe the solution to a given problem or task.

This unit creates opportunities to progress to a range of roles in the digital sector and develop industry-led skills, analysis, and interpretation, crucial for developing practical experiences with big data and gaining employment.

This unit is designed to develop an understanding of the fundamental concepts of cloud computing and cloud deployment models, and the need for cloud computing. Students further develop critical awareness of cloud computing-based projects.

This unit introduces students to the concept of organizational behavior and they will be encouraged to apply this to the digital sector, developing an awareness of how organizations in the digital economy are organized and formed.

In this unit, students will be able to define a project, create project plans, set up the delivery of the project, execute and review the outputs, and understand the outcomes – how the project fits into the wider business planning strategy of the organization.

Students will study the following eight courses during the second academic year. Instruction will be supported through formative and summative assessments with a focus on global employability skills. Students will progress to study in the UK for the final year top-up Honours degree in Business Analytics at a UK university.

In this unit students will be able to appreciate the importance of business intelligence in terms of optimising decision-making and performance by exploring the tools, techniques and systems that support business intelligence.

In this unit students will be able to explain the basic concepts of IoT; design, build and simulate an IoT application using any combination of hardware, software, data, platforms and services and; discuss problems IoT applications solve.

In this unit, students will be able to explain some of the most promising and impactful emerging technologies and understand the impact that emerging technologies have on the development of software applications.

This unit introduces students to applied analytical models used in business to discover, interpret and communicate meaningful patterns of data held in silos or data warehouses, and to derive knowledge to gain competitive advantage.

In this unit is to enhance students’ understanding of contemporary business information technology (IT) systems and how organisations develop and continuously review their IT strategy in order to gain and maintain competitive advantage.

In this unit, students will have explored industry sectors that use digital technologies, the history of the industry, current and emerging digital technologies, and how organisations are adapting and solving problems using digital technologies and planning for the future.

In this unit, students will have gained a wide range of knowledge and understanding of the issues and topics associated with sustainability and the importance of a low carbon economy.

In this unit, students will investigate contexts prior to negotiation, information management prior to and during negotiation, the process of developing and presenting a case and be able to assess the successes of a new pitch.
